Do you have trouble taking images of fireworks? This tutorial will offer you some tips in getting your firework images like the ones below!

Smile!

#1. The tripod is your friend. I cannot express this enough. To capture large bursts that firecrackers make the cameras shutter is required to be open about 1-3 seconds. In order to keep your camera still for the long exposure times you have to have a tripod.

#2. Batteries and Memory are your right hand mates. Have plenty of space in your card and batteries, you will need it.

#3. When shooting firework images your camera should have an adjustable ISO setting. It is best to put it at the lowest setting. When you set your ISO setting low for this project you don’t have spots and weird dots, noise.

#4. Your Tv setting known as (Timing Priority) should be set to 2-5 seconds. You will have to test each one and see which works best for where you are at and the time of day. When you have your settings this way and taking images there is a small delay, so don’t rush it, just wait.

#5. Try not to use to much weight on your tripod when shooting, use a remote if you can, but remember remotes are slower!

If you stick to these 5 steps and with patience you will soon discover that taking great firework images can be very simple and fun!
