The following sections outline the basic structure of our project development process.
Let's Chat!
The critical first step in our process is the exploration phase. In this phase we will discuss your needs and evaluate the project details and preferences through email and/or by phone if necessary.
We will discuss:
» Project details
» Budget constraints
» Timelines for completion
» Business/personal objectives
» Target audiences
Once we understand your needs we will send you an estimated quote. A contract will then be drafted for you to review. Before work begins, a deposit of 50% of the quoted amount is required. Your deposit will be considered the signature of a legal binding contract between you and the-design-trade.com and an agreement of the contract that was drafted.
Our goals are now set and we will be ready to move on to the next phase.
Drafting
We will then create a rough draft of the project and then present it to you either through a URL on our server or by email. Your response and suggestions on the project will be used to affirm the outcome of the final product.
We will discuss the following:
» Colors
» Layout
» Images
» Type
» Any other requests
Once you are happy with the rough draft we will be ready to move on to the next phase.
Building and Sending
Once the project is approved we will do either of the following depending on your project.
For Example:
» If your project does not call for an installation of some sort such as an illustration, logo, etc. The remaining payment for services is then required. Your project will be put into a .zip file, CD or both (your choice) and be ready for you to download. This will be the end of the project.
» If your project needs some sort of installation such as a CMS the remaining payment for services is then required. After the final payment is received we will install and set up any graphics, text, scripts etc. onto your site using an FTP program and cpanel. We will then test the functionality and browser compliance on the site to make sure all is working properly.
Once that is done, we will ask you for a final review of the site at this point you may look for possible errors and ask for minor changes or enhancements.
For an additional fee training can be provided on any web administration tools such as (wordpress, phpbb etc.) to help you maintain your site. Once your site is live we will continue to monitor and tweak your site as necessary for the next 30 days.
If requested, we will begin to promote your site by submitting it to the major search engines and directory sites and adding meta tags and small items needed for web crawling. Generally it may take 6 weeks for your site to get listed and the results to show. This will be the end of the project.
